-WEEK 5-

  Zone swimming carnival

On Wednesday the 24th of February, some junior and senior girls and boys went to the Zone Swimming Carnival. From 4S, Edie, Georgie, Chelsea and Gus enjoyed a fun and exciting day at the carnival with some other friends.

It was huge. It looks as though there are hundreds of kids. As soon as you drive into the car park at Lambton Pool you can see a giant queue snaking down the grass outside the gates.

As soon as you sneak your way into the pool it’s absolutely overwhelming! The stands are packed with school kids and there are people everywhere, not counting in the pool!

The first thing you do once you get inside is you can do a practice swim up and back or up a lane and you can practise some dives.

Then things start to get busy with the 100 metre races and then the 50 metre freestyle.

Georgie, Chelsea and Gus went in the 50 metre freestyle.

At the end of the day some participants stayed because they went in the relay. The junior girls team came 5th in the relay and we were in lane 5!

All and all it was a very fun day at the pool. By Georgie

SRC

In 2016 our schools SRC’S (student representative council) have been elected. The 4S SRC’s are Nikolai and Chelsea and they will be attending every 3 or 4 times a term and will be helping to organise big events like the school disco!  The coordinators are Ms Drew and Mrs Bowman and they will be doing a great job of organising the SRC meetings. Chelsea and Nikolai will be open to any suggestions and complaints that they will take to the meetings. Congratulations to all of our SRC representatives.   By Nikolai and Chelsea

Achievement awards

Each week Mr. Slade will be giving out two awards at assembly based on the students’ performance in class.  Congratulations to Millie and Indiah, this week’s award winners. Millie for a great start at a new school and Indiah for her wonderful effort in math activities.   By Mika
